You've been learning French for months, but conversations still feel like a wall?
That's completely normal: mastering a language is so much more than knowing the rules. It's also about getting to grips with the social and cultural codes that truly make a difference, and finding the confidence to express yourself.
What if you tried an approach that teaches you to speak French with confidence, and to understand the French beyond words?

You've been learning French for months, but conversations still feel like a wall? That's completely normal: mastering a language is so much more than knowing the rules. It's also about getting to grips with the social and cultural codes that truly make a difference, and finding the confidence to express yourself.
What if you tried an approach that teaches you to speak French with confidence, and to understand the French beyond words?

On the phone:
You hope it goes to voicemail but when someone answers, your mind goes blank. You end up handing the phone to your partner… or hanging up.

At the doctor’s:
you want to explain how you feel, but you get stuck on three words. You leave frustrated, hoping the doctor guessed correctly.

At the café:
you order a drink. “Pardon?” says the waiter. You repeat, you blush, you almost regret coming.

At social gatherings:
you understand the joke… two minutes after everyone else. Too late to laugh, too late to reply.
At home, you depend on your partner to speak for you. You avoid direct interactions. You feel like a foreigner in your own adopted country.
Your social life? No real French friends. You stay in your English- or Spanish-speaking bubble. People slowly stop inviting you, because you're not really part of the conversation anyway.
At work, you know how to do your job, but you struggle to show it. You stay silent. Your good ideas remain in your head so people stop asking for your opinion. Little by little, you lose confidence.
A vicious circle sets in:
The less you speak, the less you progress.
The less you progress, the more ashamed you feel.
The more ashamed you feel, the less you dare to try.
And the more isolated you become.
The result?
You live in France… but not yet your real French life.

On the phone
Call your insurance company without your heart racing, explain your issue clearly and hang up with that feeling of pride that comes from handling things on your own.

With your neighbours
Naturally join conversations outside the school gate, laugh at their jokes and finally have your place in the community, the person who gets invited to Sunday barbecues.

At a restaurant
Ask for advice about a dish you don’t know, exchange a few words with the waiter and feel “at home”, not just passing through.

In your social life
Be invited to dinners, join the club you’ve been dreaming about and rediscover the version of yourself you were back home.

French textbooks: too much theory, too many conjugations, and situations that don’t reflect your real life. You can’t transfer them into everyday situations.
Apps: you repeat absurd sentences (“Le chat mange une pizza verte.”). Fun for two minutes useless at the pharmacy.
“Magical immersion”: you’re told “Just listen, it will come naturally.” But if you stay in your English- or Spanish-speaking bubble, it doesn’t.
Fear of speaking: no one taught you how to manage language anxiety. And don’t worry you’re not alone. Even French people struggle with speaking anxiety!
The truth is: You don’t need more rules or vocabulary lists.
You need a simple, practical method that fits into your busy life, helps you practise in real situations, and gives you regular small wins to stay motivated.
The “Le français de Juliette” Method
My programme is built on three inseparable pillars.
It's their combination that makes all the difference: each one is essential to transforming your everyday life in France.
The result? You move from hesitation to confidence, from isolation to inclusion, from dependence to freedom.
By bringing these 3 pillars together, you transform your experience in France:
You finally dare to express yourself, free from hesitation.
You understand the cultural codes and fit in naturally.
You make the most of your life here, with confidence and freedom.ruggle with speaking anxiety!

Pillar 1: Living in French
French becomes part of your everyday life. You don’t study it, you use it: at the market, at the town hall, with your neighbour.
Small, regular victories help you gain autonomy and fluency.
Result: French is no longer a subject it’s your life.
Pillar 2: Decoding local life
You learn to understand social codes, humour and expressions French people actually use.
You stop smiling politely without understanding, you take part and feel included.
Result: you’re no longer “the foreigner in the village”, but a full member of the community.

Pillar 3: Speaking with confidence
You free yourself from fear and dare to speak in real life: ordering, asking questions, joining conversations.
You don’t need to be perfect, every word spoken is a victory.
Result: pride, confidence and lightness as if a weight had been lifted.
And concretely, how does it work?
Over three months, you move forward step by step with structured, supportive guidance and visible results.
At the heart of the programme:
Live, friendly online sessions in small groups
Real-life situations you actually encounter in France
Weekly actions integrated into your daily life
Simple resources you can replay anytime
Ongoing support between sessions
Your progress, step by step
You don’t just learn French.
You regain confidence, freedom, and your place in France.
Week 1: You walk into a bakery, ask about two pastries, and understand the answer → first click, first smile of victory.
Week 3: You call the town hall, ask a simple question, and hang up feeling proud.
After 1 month: You ask for advice at the pharmacy or chat with your postman → confidence starts to grow.
After 2 months: You exchange a few sentences with neighbours, join a conversation → no more freezing up.
After 3 months: You're invited to a local dinner or celebration. You understand, you join in, you laugh along → you're no longer a spectator. You belong.

Who I am ?
I'm Juliette Jouve, founder of Le français de Juliette.
I split my time between south-west France (Corrèze) and Andalusia, and it was in Spain that I lived exactly what you're going through: smiling politely without understanding a word, avoiding conversations for fear of
looking foolish. I know exactly how you feel.
That's why I created a different approach, built around confidence, cultural codes, and real life. This method has already helped Sarah, Hilton and Nick move from feeling stuck to speaking freely, settling into their new environment, and truly enjoying life in France (their
stories are below).
My mission: to make French your ally, not a barrier to belonging.
What makes me different:
Nerves are welcome here! Daring to try is already a win
Lively sessions where we laugh and learn together
Support between lessons, for your questions and your victories
French rooted in your actual everyday life in France
With “Le français de Juliette” you move step by step toward greater confidence and freedom.
You understand some French but don’t manage to speak with confidence
You want to integrate in France and decode daily local life (friends, restaurants, administration…)
You’re tired of learning vocabulary or grammar “in the void”
You sometimes feel stress, shyness or a mental block when speaking
You want to progress quickly with personalised support, adapted to your rhythm and needs
You’re a complete beginner and don’t yet understand spoken French
You’re only looking for traditional, school-style grammar lessons
You want instant results without investing time or energy
You don’t want to speak, try, or step (a little) outside your comfort zone
You prefer learning entirely on your own, without human interaction
Every day without action is one more day spent:
Depending on others
Missing out on connections
Postponing your plans
Losing years without truly integrating
Not fully enjoying life in France
But in three months, you could like Hilton, Sarah and Tomas:
Take part in real conversations
Feel proud and legitimate
Enjoy life in France without stress
The only difference between these two scenarios?
The decision you make today.
Stop dreaming about life in France. Start living it.

A relaxed conversation (in French or in English) to see if this method is right for you.
A moment to assess your level, your needs, and see how I can help you move towards more fluent, confident French.
